Do you sometimes feel that getting OSHA certified is nothing but hype? If you are interested in becoming a forklift operator, or already are one, and you need to get yourself certified, then OSHA is the only place to go. You can receive a majority of your forklift training online, but you are also required to take on additional hands-on courses to really get the feel of it.
OSHA, as a rule, does not personally give out certification, accreditation or even approves trainers and training programs. However, the only exception to this is the OSHA 10 & 30 hour courses. However, OSHA is in the business of ensuring that companies comply with its rules and regulations, and thus, the sole responsibility of certification lies in the hands of the employer. As an employer, you are completely responsible for the training and evaluation of your employees. This is why every forklift operator must be trained in accordance with the OSHA standards.
It is important to make sure that the trainings consist of a combination of formal instruction as well as practical training, and the final evaluation of the operator’s performance at the workplace.
As an employer, it is important to find an approach to your employees’ training needs that is both cheap as well as effective. Taking this into consideration, a majority of your employees’ training can be undertaken online in just a few hours, making it a cheap procedure. Once they get certified online, your employee’s can take a practical session, making it effective.

Well a lot of people are saying that such training is indeed a hype. But, this is one of the reasons why a lot of companies finds their success with their projects more than the others - with 10 or 30 hour osha training course, their workers are a whole lot more safer and more productive at work than those without the right education about the right operations.
